SASPiPhi’s SASPject platform utilises engineered bacteriophages to deliver a gene encoding a toxic protein directly into target bacteria, resulting in rapid and selective bacterial elimination.
This precision approach enables antimicrobial therapies to be developed potentially targeting any harmful bacteria, with reduced off-target effects, supporting the development of next-generation anti-infectives.
Current development programmes target priority pathogens including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Acinetobacter baumannii.
